Where To Stay During Fallas On A Budget

Is it possible to visit Fallas on a budget? Truth be told, not spending an arm and a leg on accommodation in Valencia Fallas is not easy. But it is possible. Save on your hotel and transport with the insider tips I list below.

Visiting Fallas on a budget is no easy task. You just have to keep in mind that hotels within the city are more expensive than on the outskirts. Get hotels with a good metro access to all the Fallas sights and enjoy the festival while not spending a lot!

Budget Accommodation During Fallas

It goes without saying that if you want to save on your trip to Valencia during Fallas, you must book the hotel well in advance.

Indeed, the prices for hotels within Valencia soar during the festival. So if you are travelling on a budget, get a hotel on the outskirts or outside of the city. As you probably know, Spanish hotels boast a great quality vs. price ratio! And with Valencia’s metro system sprawling far out, staying at a hotel during Fallas on a budget is a breeze.

Save On Transportation During Fallas

And if you want to save even more and be able to move around during Fallas on a budget, I recommend getting the Valencia Tourist Card. With the purchase you get free transportation by metro to all of the zones (ABCD).

There are 3 options: 24, 48 and 72 hours. There is also a card for 7 days, but it does not include transportation.

Another advantage is the opportunity to visit various sights in Valencia for free or at a discount. This includes such major tourist attractions as the impressive cage-free zoo Bioparc and the must-see City of Arts and Sciences. As well as discounts available at select shops!

This is the official card by the local authorities in charge of tourism in the Valencian Community. You can download the official app for iphone and ipad for your trip.

Make your purchase online and get the card delivered to your hotel. Or you can get it at one of the Tourist Info offices upon your arrival in Valencia. Of course, there is an office located in the airport, by the entrance to the metro.

You can also extend your card, should you wish to stay in Valencia for longer.

Hopefully, with a bit of advance planning you will be able to visit Fallas on a budget.
